Roxy Blue and the Handful!! @ Bar 11

 Went home to San Diego this weekend and hung out with my friend Chesca to check out her brother's band Roxy Blue and the Handful. If you haven't heard of them before, you can check them out on ITunes. This was a really fun experience. I've always loved live music and concerts are just soooo much better when you have a good view of the band. The bar was pretty cool. It's a definite hole-in-the-wall type of place with a quirky bartender. 

Her brother Dez will be having a birthday party here on June 25th for his other bands' CD release. Sounds like it's going to be an amazing show. Although you can't tell from the pictures here but he's a pretty freaking awesome guitarist!!

Griffith Park

I went hiking on saturday two weeks ago with my boss Eric. It was a short hike lasting about three miles with lots of cool views of Los Angeles.

 I have to say that the weather was really great and the hike was beautiful! I'm excited to do it again and check out some other trails.

To finish off the day I thought I'd go treat myself to some yummy pho! Man I love eating this stuff! It was one of my more productive weekends!

Shit.

Guess what guys? I am gonna fail my first class ever!! Okay maybe at LEAST a D. I should've dropped this damn class.  I thought I was gonna have enough time to study but when I also had to study for Staff this week that was a no go....I took the opportunity to go out on Saturday with a friend to see other parts of LA and that was fun and long. We watched Bridesmaids...I actually think I might go watch it again. It was soooo funny and nothing about it was cliche or super corny! I loved the Irish cop...you fall in love with him and the main character. He was a really sweet guy...too cute!

So this class wasn't a complete waste. I made a friend from it and hopefully we can hang out after this class is over. I hope her pregnancy gets better. She knows a lot and we get along really well. It's taken me a long time to make some friends out here and I'm excited to meet more.

I haven't been blogging since I'm so freaking lazy. I just can't find motivation!! But here I am now...since I'm still waiting for my laundry to dry I think I'll upload some photos and catch up....

I just wanted to complain real quick haha. I'm planning on getting certified and yeah....more to follow hopefully.

Scents and Panties?

I think "panties" is such a funny word to say out loud. PAN-TIES! Well anyways, I got this stuff about a week ago. I love the smell! I'm so broke right now though...I spent money on all this stuff and last weekend I got myself a new laptop! I've been lagging on the blogging scene...not much new is going on really. Watched a movie on YouTube called "Girl Walks into a Bar" which was filmed at various bars here in LA. Pretty simple storyline with a few cameos of your favorite stars like Rosario Dawson, Josh Hartnett and more. Just a crazy night in LA. Go ahead and check it out! It's an "online only movie" so instead of watching those cats playing pianos videos, give this one a go. On to the haul...

And here's my American Eagle haul! I love their underwear here better than at Victorias Secret....They fit better on me and uhhh...cover better!! =P Got a simple shirt too. You can't really tell what it looks like though. Oh well. That's all for now....

HG Weekend

This past weekend was pretty busy for Honor Guard...okay not really, we had one detail a day but still! Part of our weekend man! Anyways, the first one was a "romance novel" conference by the SOS club from Hickam AFB. I'm assuming the SOS is something like the FRG in the Army. If you watch Army wives you know what I'm talking about. Don't ask me what those acronyms stand for because I have no idea. I just know it's some club for military spouses. So in the hallways outside the conference room and a bunch of exhibits for different books, and meet the author type stuff. Oh yeah, A LOT of erotic cards and ads the were giving out. I guess after it was over "Mr. Romance" was supposed to show up. Remember all those books with Fabio on the cover? Well this dude was something like that....eww. We did our little thing and they had this really cute old school quartet sing the anthem and a few other military songs. The few pictures seen here are just random ones of us BSing while we were waiting for our cue to retire the flags...I promise I'll take more pictures next time...

They had boxes of Wax Lips just hanging out and I couldn't resist trying it out on myself. I don't think I'll ever get botox...

Oh, now this one was on Sunday for some kind of Air Pilot Awards or something. Just goofing off again waiting for our cue. We were helping ourselves to some free food too.

Now this was my lunch afterward....so amazing! I went to Ayara over on Sepulveda near-ish to the airport and had some Thai. I love this place! This was Salmon "fried to golden perfection" as the menu said with a cashew nut type salad. 

One of my PICs stuck with the usual american favorite, Pad Thai...

After all this I went home and made a dent in my wallet as you may already know if you read the last blog...what else did I do? I started watching Glee on netflix and worked out. Meh.

First haul blog!

So I did a lot of online shopping on Sunday....I wanted to go to the Mall but I said eff it lets just do this crap online. About two hours later I dropped a few hundred on clothes, shoes, and smell good stuff lol. So the first of the packages came in today from Forever 21. The warehouse is here in LA so it got here really fast! Come to think of it, all the other crap I ordered from them weren't as fast...but whatever! Here's what I got:

 This one is really comfy and cute on! I love the sleeves. They're so flowy.

 Here's a pair of earrings I got that I probably won't wear ever again.

 I don't like the belt much but glad it's removable. I'm really into single shoulder shirts/dresses

Last but not least a little tank top! 

Next hauls will be from Karmaloop.com and American Eagle. I bought some Kai products as well. I heard it smells really good and many Hollywood stars have it so I went on a whim and bought the stuff! If I don't like it I'll give it away as a gift to one lucky bitch hehe. I'm realllllly excited to get my Grey Slim Chuck Taylors!! I'm going back to San Diego this weekend and I hope I get everything by then!

We take a lot of things for granted sometimes...

One of those times...

So my friend asked her husband why it's so hard to find friends that are just like them and it's kinda funny because i feel the same way about it. I've been living here in LA for a year now and still can't find someone that'll just be there for me whenever without it being a bother at all. Someone who doesn't mind going out of their way to pick you up, or drop you off. Someone you don't mind just hanging out all day doing random stuff and going with the flow.

I have made some friends here but they have either come and go. And each friend has their own things going on that they can't be there all the time. There's nothing wrong with that but I guess I'm looking for the "best friend" here in LA.

There's one who can't go out at night too much because they have a kid to take care of. Or the one that has kids and chooses not to go out because it's easier for them.

There's the ones who have husbands to go home to because the weekends are all they have with each other. Nothing wrong with that at all. Just sucks for me. Can't be selfish!

And then there's the ones who are just into drinking and sex and all that promiscuity that comes from alcohol. I don't like that craziness!

I mean, I like to drink every now and then. But my ideal situation is that I want the people I'm with, to be people that I know well enough, and trust well enough that can make the right decision when it comes to going home. I want friends that know how to handle themselves and would watch your back no matter what.

Maybe that's too much. But I do know getting relationships like that with friends takes time. But it's been a freaking year!! I haven't even been on a date in over a year. I've only kissed one person that whole time and I'll probably never see him again.

People say to put myself out there but you can't ask a guy to hang out without making them think that they're trying to get with you and then people just aren't interested in making new friends as much as I am. I DID try to hang out with a classmate but she pretty much just blew me off. It's so annoying.

I know I'm not completely alone. All my friends are scattered all over. Germany, Travis, Vegas, San Diego.....

Majority of my time is in this overcrowded city and yet I can't find a few peeps to chill with on the weekend. *sigh*

I can't believe I was in New Orleans just last week. The week was such a long one and now it feels like it never happened...I can probably blame that on the alcohol but you know. =P

Oh how I miss you so much already! Perhaps this will also keep me from my Iphone after hours. I'm not lying when I tell you it keeps me up past one in the morning! I always cling to it sunday nights/monday mornings! I know I had less than 4 hours of sleep.
